Tournament information
RULES OF PLAY:
This event will follow AAU 2019 rules. If two teams are tied, head-to-head play will determine the higher seed, then point differential.
PLAYER ROSTER:
Final rosters adjustments must be turned in to the Tournament Director prior to the beginning of the team’s first game.
Coaches are responsible for birth certificates and grade exception forms. Upon request, these must be made available to the Tournament Director or his representative.
CHECK-IN:
Teams should check in at least 45 minutes before their first game to pick up their coaches packet at the site location of their first game. Teams should arrive no later than 30 minutes before the start of each subsequent game. The start time of a game will be the later of the scheduled start time or 7 minutes after the previous game. Game time is forfeit time.
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT:
Teams listed first will be the “home team.” Designated home teams will wear white jerseys and visitors will wear dark jerseys.
The home team will provide the game ball.
GAME FORMAT:
2nd - 4th Grade - 12 minute halves
5th - 8th Grade - 14 minute halves
High School - 14 minute halves.
Overtime - First overtime period will be 3 minutes and any subsequent overtime periods will be 1 minute.
TIMEKEEPING & SCOREKEEPING:
Each home team must provide an adult scorekeeper to maintain the official book for that game. Home scorekeepers must sit at the head table. Visiting teams must provide the timekeepers for each game.
CONDUCT:
Only coaches and team members listed on the roster are allowed to sit on the bench. Only 1 coach can be standing. The Head Coach is responsible for the conduct of the coaches, players and team fans. Disruptive behavior will result in ejection from the tournament and can lead to the removal of the team.
AWARDS:
Team awards will be given to the 1st and 2nd place team in each division.
FACILITIES / LOCATIONS:
Games will be held in a variety of Loudoun County High Schools and Middle Schools in the Leesburg/Ashburn area. Concessions will be available at all locations. Some teams may play in AUX gyms where there is NO seating. Parents are welcome to bring folding chairs.
GATE ADMISSION:
Gate admission will be charged for all spectators. Players wearing team uniforms will be allowed entry to all game locations. Wristbands will be required for all others wishing to enter game locations. Each team will receive 2 weekend wristbands for their coaches. Additional wristbands can be purchased at the door.
